About the Series

Doing things that boost positive emotions throughout the day impact us cognitively and inter-personally. Positive emotions can impact our task performance, resilience, success in life, and even longevity. Incorporating positive emotions like gratitude and optimism and using humor throughout our day benefit us and those around us. This series will focus on the tangible things that you can do to boost positivity including ways to apply the skills in the classroom.

The Office of the Provost is accepting nominations for the Rensselaer faculty awards listed below. The Faculty Committee on Honors will review the nominations and provide their recommendation to the Provost. Selected nominees will be submitted to the President for approval. Nomination forms are available at the links listed in the descriptions. All nominations must be submitted by Friday, March 1st 2024.

 

Class of 1951 Outstanding Teaching Development Grant

 

For those schools and departments using Helio Campus (formerly AEFIS) for accreditation and/or program review, and want to link assignments to program outcomes, the window for doing so will be open until 6 weeks after the semester ends. Please make sure to complete your assignment linking by February 2, 2024. If you have questions or need assistance with assignment linking, contact Amy Svirsky (svirsa2@rpi.edu).

Based on the requirements from the Provost's office, faculty should have their syllabi published by January 22, 2024. HelioCampus will publish the syllabi automatically on January 29, 2024.

There are resources to assist you on the Provost's website.

During this session, Prof. Azita Hirsa will discuss leadership in action with Trustee Linda Jojo as she shares her leadership experiences in the 21st century. Trustee Jojo will also answer questions about any relevant aspects of the topic that may be useful to attendees.
